Who are the Friends?

Friends of the Bruton Memorial Library is an incorporated non-profit organization that fosters fiscal and volunteer support for our library. We are citizens who believe that an excellent library with varied programs for adults and children is essential to our community.

What Friends Do

Friends encourage all residents to utilize the resources of the library on a more frequent basis.

Friends assist with programs, book sales, newsletters, and other library tasks.

Friends raise supplemental funds to obtain enhancements for the library such as educational supplies, equipment, and program support.

Friends recruit new Friends!

How Friends Benefit

The greatest benefit that you can obtain is the satisfaction of playing an important role in helping our library acquire state-of-the-art components and materials. In addition, Friends of the Library will also:

  • Receive periodic newsletters highlighting library and Friend's activities
  • Attend "Friends Only" advance book sales
  • Attend special programs including informative lectures, book reviews, cultural exhibitions, and receptions

Mystery Dinner Theater

Friends of Bruton Memorial Library organize events to raise funds, volunteer, and have fun! Once a year The Friends host a Mystery Dinner Theater. This is our largest event with  150+ attendees. The evening includes a full dinner, entertainment and a chance to make friends!

Book Sales

Book sales are an ongoing program. Used materials are donated directly Bruton Memorial. Proceeds of the sales go to Friends of the Library. These funds are used to supplement programs and activities at the Library.
